First One!

So here it is, 9:44 PM on February 4th, 2023. Although this year has only begun, the way God has already moved in my life has been incredible. I started my 2nd semester of college in January, and although it’s only been a month, this last month has been so memorable, and I have SO much to look back on and smile at. At the start of each semester, we have a chapel… Read More

“You mean even Christians can experience heartbreak?”

I had a heartbreaking moment last week at Meijer’s. I just wanted to share a bit about my experience and my thoughts about what I witnessed. I’ve been praying about it a lot, but I wanted to take a minute to write down my thoughts. So I went into Meijer’s to get a few groceries, nothing too much, just a few essentials. Of course, it was early evening on a Thursday, and everybody had just gotten off work. So the store was hectic, and the self-checkouts were very busy, so I figured it… Read More

Wait, I ACTUALLY need human interaction?

So this last week, I returned to Illinois for my spring break. Not much has changed since I was home at Christmas time, but there was one minor thing that was different that really had a lasting impact on me, and I wanted to share a little bit about that with you. So, if you didn’t know, I took two years off of academics after high school. I worked various jobs during that time, but one of… Read More

Stress, Anxiety, and all that other Junk.

So, if I’m being honest, yesterday was a tough day for me personally. Just like any other functioning adult, I have my good days, and then I have my not-so-good days. Life isn’t always up and to the right, and that’s OK, but what my life is, more than anything else, is authentic. One of the things college has taught me more than anything else, it’s how powerful authenticity… Read More

End of the year already?

Today, I got to re-live my first move-in day. I moved across campus to a different residence hall so that I could take my May-Term class. It took me back to my original move-in day, August 27th, 2023. A day filled with anxiety, excitement, and a little bit of just plain nervousness, which is typical for most college freshmen on move-in day. Before moving to college, I knew one person. I didn’t even know her that well either, she goes to my home church (but one of the other campuses), and I had met her once before… Read More

Same Job, Different Surroundings

Two weeks ago I started a New Job. This wasn’t really a new job for me, though, because I worked for this same company for seven months back in 2021, so I already was familiar with the way of doing things and company policies and whatnot. I had a lot of fun at that job back in Illinois and knew this was a great company to work for, so I decided to… Read More

Twenty-one years

Twenty-one years ago today, May the 28th, 2002, was a very exciting day for my family. Twenty-One years ago today, In Keokuk, Iowa, God blessed my parents with a beautiful, healthy baby boy. I’m honestly not sure my parents knew what they were getting into with a second child like myself. I don’t think I came with any sort of warning label… Read More

Baby Steps

A little over a week ago, I moved from Indiana Wesleyan University to my summer internship at True North Church in Wauseon, OH. As usual with starting any new adventure, there was a lot of nervousness. There were so many things I didn’t know, and if I’m being honest, that kind of scared me. I tried to ask as many questions as I could prior to coming here, but… Read More

Heavy Loads

I’m in awe of what God has done over this last month, and I thought I would share. This Afternoon, I went and took a walk at one of the Nature Trails here in Wauseon. I got the opportunity to listen to the new Taylor Swift Album on my walk (which was awesome, by the way), and the sun was shining, so it was just a fantastic experience. The trail is BEAUTIFUL, and… Read More

Identity Crisis

Forewarning: This is going to be a long one and gets kind of deep, but I have a lot on my mind, and God has really moved this last week, so stick around until the end. I promise it’ll be worth it!

So, For those who have or haven’t read my previous blogs or don’t already know: This summer, I chose to do an internship through TrueNorth Church in Wauseon, OH. God has blessed me immensely since being here. Although It’s had its ups and downs like anything, I’ve seen God… Read More

That’s a Wrap!

It’s currently 4:30 in the morning; I woke up with a lot in my head, so I figured I would write a blog post and share what’s been on my mind and heart lately.

For those who don’t know or haven’t read my last few blog posts: I’ve spent my summer in Wauseon, OH interning at a church. Although it’s had its ups and downs, It’s been an incredible experience, and I’ve learned so much about God, Myself, and others. This week is my final week, and I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on what I’ve learned over the last 10 weeks, and I have a few things I want to share.

One of the big ones is that… Read More

Connections.

So for the record, It’s currently 11:45 PM on Saturday, September 30th. I have a ton on my mind tonight that I felt like sharing, and it’s better for me to let it out than it is to keep it all in. I had a moment today that sparked a bit of inspiration, and I thought I would share it.

Every Saturday Morning that I’m on campus, I have the same routine. I wake up, get dressed, comb my hair, and then take a walk down to the Local Speedway to Pick up the weekend edition of the local newspaper. I know it’s a little old-fashioned, but I truly enjoy reading the newspaper each week and finding out what’s happening in my local community. It’s about 3/4ths of a mile from my dorm to the convenience store, and so it kind of gives me a chance to wake up a little bit, get some… Read More
